Here, I am going to teach you, how to make 3d maker tutorial in 3d max.
I have used following techniques in making of this tutorial.

[1]First take a box in the top view port of this size.

[2]Convert it into editable poly.

[3]Switch to the polygon mode.

[4]Select the polygon like this.

[5]Hit on insert polygon and do the followings settings.

[6]Then hit on bevel and adjust it like this.

[7]This is the beveled image.

[8]Again one more bevel by this settings.

[9]Take scale tool and scale it like this.

[10]Select extrude polygon and do like this.

[11]Now take a small box of this size and place it on marker tip.

[12]Select the back polygon of the box and hit on insert polygon.

[13]Bevel the polygon again.

[14]Switch to the edges mode and select the edges like this.

[15]Then hit on chamfer by chamfer amount- 1.0.

[16]Take a box of this size.

[17]Copy it one time.

[18]Place the box like this.

[19]Then go to the compound object and select Boolean and apply it.

[20]Your cap will look like this.

[21]Then press M and select the marker, take diffuse color as yellow and apply it.

[22]Select the tip as green in color.

[23]Select the cap and apply the diffuse color as black.

[24]This is your 3d marker.
